Box Journaling - a powerful writing technique that sparks creativity and self-exploration

I offer hands-on Box Journaling seminars for social agencies, schools, organizations, private functions, and occasionally as public workshops. This adaptable approach works with adolescents, adults, and seniors, and every participant leaves with a new insight into how emotions and core beliefs shape one another. The process also reveals how we often hold multiple—and sometimes seemingly contradictory—beliefs at the same time. Depending on the goals of the group, the creative component can be emphasized more or less, but it always plays a vital role in solidifying the learning and ensuring the experience moves beyond awareness into lasting clarity and growth.

What Box Journaling IS:

Box Journaling is a guided practice built around simple “boxes” that hold your thoughts and feelings in a safe container. You begin by noting emotions in the Feeling Box, then explore the automatic “I think” statements that often drive those emotions in the Thinking Box. From there, you soften and balance those inner voices with self-kindness in the Compassion Box, and finally let your creativity flow in color, line, or playful words in the Creativity Box, with the Date Box serving as a gentle transition into a journaling state. This structure doesn’t just organize your inner world—it creates space to witness your fears and doubts without judgment, transform them with compassion, and anchor them in creative expression. The result is a process that naturally opens the door to greater clarity, deep acceptance, and a sense of inner peace

What Box Journaling is NOT:

Box Journaling is not traditional journaling where you retell the story of who said what, or rehash the details of a particular situation. It isn’t about producing a polished piece of writing, and it’s not meant to be a diary of daily events. Nor is it about fixing yourself, analyzing endlessly, or forcing a positive spin on your experiences. Instead, it moves away from storytelling and into a structured process that captures raw feelings, automatic thoughts, and compassionate truths—holding them all in a creative container. This distinction allows Box Journaling to bypass overthinking, helping you shift from rumination into clarity, acceptance, and peace.

What you will learn:

Tools to help you release old narratives of “acceptance” and step into expansion, joy, and collective uplifting.

Box Journaling for Kids: Fostering Emotional Growth Through Creativity

Box Journaling® is a fun, hands-on program that helps children build the emotional intelligence skills they need to thrive at school and beyond. Through drawing, writing, and colour, students learn how to identify and express their feelings, recognize emotions in others, and practice healthy coping strategies.

By giving kids the tools to better manage their emotions, this workshop supports positive classroom behavior, stronger peer relationships, and greater resilience. Teachers and parents will see students becoming more confident, empathetic, and self-aware—skills that not only improve learning in the moment but also lay the foundation for lifelong well-being.
