Anxiety - Burnout - Stress Therapy

Anxiety, burnout, and stress therapy in Calgary and online for adults and adolescents struggling with worry, overthinking, panic, work stress, school pressure, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-doubt, and overwhelm.

Anxiety, burnout, and stress can build slowly over time. You may look like you are managing on the outside, but inside feel overwhelmed, exhausted, tense, irritable, or unable to fully relax. You may be overthinking conversations, replaying decisions, struggling to sleep, feeling pressure to perform, or finding it harder to keep up with work, school, relationships, parenting, or daily responsibilities.

I work with adults and adolescents who are feeling stretched thin by anxiety, burnout, work stress, school pressure, self-doubt, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or the feeling of always having to hold everything together. Sometimes anxiety shows up as panic or racing thoughts. Sometimes it looks like avoidance, procrastination, emotional shutdown, irritability, or a constant sense that you are not doing enough.

You may be looking for anxiety or stress therapy if you notice yourself:

  • Overthinking conversations, decisions, mistakes, or future possibilities

  • Feeling constantly tense, restless, overwhelmed, or unable to relax

  • Struggling with panic, racing thoughts, dread, or “what if” thinking

  • Feeling burned out, emotionally drained, or disconnected from motivation

  • Having trouble sleeping because your mind will not turn off

  • Feeling pressure to perform, please others, or keep everything together

  • Avoiding tasks, conversations, school, work, or responsibilities because they feel too much

  • Becoming irritable, shut down, tearful, or reactive under stress

  • Feeling like you are not doing enough, even when you are doing a lot

  • Struggling with work stress, school pressure, relationship stress, parenting stress, or major life demands

  • Feeling responsible for everyone else’s feelings or needs

  • Wanting to feel more grounded, clear, and in control of your choices

How therapy can help

In therapy, we slow things down and look at what is happening underneath the stress response. Together, we may explore the thoughts, emotions, body sensations, old patterns, and expectations that keep anxiety or burnout going. The goal is not to judge how you are coping, but to understand what your mind and body have been trying to manage.

My approach blends talk therapy, nervous-system education, ACT, parts work, somatic awareness, EMDR-informed tools, and creative reflection when helpful. Depending on what you need, we may use grounding strategies, body-based awareness, thought defusion, self-compassion, boundary work, values-based decision-making, and practical tools for managing overwhelm.

For some clients, we also explore the deeper patterns connected to people-pleasing, fear of conflict, relationship stress, workplace pressure, perfectionism, emotional responsibility, or feeling like you always have to be strong. Therapy can help you notice these patterns earlier, respond with more compassion, and begin making choices that are more aligned with your wellbeing.

Anxiety and burnout are not signs that you are weak. They are often signs that your system has been carrying too much for too long. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, understand your patterns, rebuild self-trust, and create a steadier, more sustainable way of moving through daily life.

I offer anxiety, burnout, and stress therapy in Calgary and online for adults and adolescents who are ready to feel less controlled by worry, pressure, and overwhelm.
